This gorgeous conglomeration of light knits combines greens of all hues and puts them together in a swinging coat that zips up, has great stretch, shows off the girls to their best advantage and is just a fun festival coat for those cool evenings before the dancing starts.
The full hem allows for spinning that shows the coat to its best advantage.
Enough spinning for now, the model (my daughter Grace) is getting dizzier than she usually gets...
Hanging out with your pals or just chillin with a groovy tree, this is one sweet counter culture item that stretches as you do with lots of groovy give.
Long and graceful sleeves dust the knuckles, the dress zips closed and also has a nice tie at the waist as well as at the cleavage.
Not hard to be happy when you're framed by the lushest counterculture gear to be had. Upcycling is the way to go if you're not one of the Wallyworld sheeple.
Grace suggests that bodacious tah tahs would love this coat, for their ability to be showcased so luxuriously.
This one of a kind bit of Sistahoodz luv is still available and is on sale for $250 which includes shipping anywhere in Canada or the US. Please venture over to Facebook and msg Christina Budeweit for our easy payment procedure.

Toni's Ruby Tuesday Hoodz
My most complex and detailed creation to date, the Ruby Tuesday hoodz is a lovely concoction of red and black with lots of scrumptious little surprises.
There is the heritage lace in the cuffs, white and wanton, so lush against tanned hands in the summer. The lacing at the back of the waist has a bit of black velvet tying it shut.
Sweet pockets make the Ruby Tuesday a practical bit of Sistahoodz luv to take to those festival events in the evening, with just enough room for the important things.
A nice wide belt accentuates the waist and gives the whole coat balance and a bit of structure.
Beautiful stitching on the hood matches the coat, although it is separate. The hood has a little alien tail at the end of its almost 5 foot length, a hollow opening for stashing festival party favours if one is so inclined. The hood also doubles as a great bag in a heartbeat, especially suited for your yoga mat!
Inside, black velvet reinforces the waist, and at the hem, spidery layers make for a spinning coat that will be as witchy as it is wonderful.
Toni will be providing a pic of herself in it, I'm hoping!

The Sistahoodz Shrug
Part of the cosmic influence of my life, are my dreams. Its as if the images that come to me while I sleep are guided by otherworldly influences and this shrug is the result of the most profound dreams I have been having repeatedly. In my dreams I am told to solve my problems with circles. When I am challenged, turn my thinking around until I have a circular avenue of approach, and in doing so, I overcome the issue and solve the problems. In one dream, I was cycling (as I do in real life, a lot) and I had come to a huge hill that was sure to kill me, should I try to hit it head on. The dream showed me that if I went left instead of straight ahead, I was able to circumnavigate the hill without dealing with any exertion at all, and in no time, that obstacle was behind me and I was back on 'easy street'.
I apply these solutions to my designing Sistahoodz and the Shrug is one such outcome of this happy random way of applying the dreams to my day life.
Darling daughter Grace is a winsome modelwith the mostest for showing off all the varied ways that the Sistahoodz Shrug can be worn to its best advantage. A different way every time!
Dreaming up new and exciting ways to wear her Sistahoodz Shrug... like a butterfly unfurling her wings...
Just enough coverage to keep sun off shoulders and moskies off arms, it allows the main parts of the body to be exposed as required so as to not overheat as well as drawing the eyes of the beholder to the face when worn this way.
Cozy and soft, the Shrug has a lot of versatile uses and can be balled up in the corner till needed again, ready in an instant to be put to work and look just as dazzling as when it was new.
Worn over tights or bare legs on a summer's evening, this is a skirt as quickly as it is a shawl.
You just need a bit of imagination and a delightful kilt pin to have fun with your shrug and wear it any way you wanna!
By making circles and then reconstructing them I am able to utilize even the smallest pieces of knit and the result is this gorgeous garment that can be worn in a variety of different ways. Around the hips, around the shoulders, as a scarf, as a shrug, as a tube top, as a baby blanket, a picnic blanket... or wall art... you choose! A simple kilt pin or sweater pin is all the closure you need to wear this a myriad of ways.
The shrug is a natural butterfly shape, also symbolizing the transformativeness of the caterpillar into something that is not only useful, but beautiful. This is the small version, presently on sale for half price at the reasonable cost of $55 plus shipping, and I can make one twice the size, for $95 plus shipping. (In the area of $15.)

Who looks bettah in this sweatah?
The Sistahoodz version of Will and Grace...
First we have Will Wheaton of Star Trek fame... In a very familiar and odd looking ugly sweater...
And then if you scroll down just a wee bit... you will see Christina of Sistahoodz notoriety in one of the two sweaters that started it all... She knitted this, without a pattern, on a circular needle, took her six days. She is the Extruder as well as the Sourceress. She doesn't knit, she extrudes.
And then... like magic... you take Will's ugly sweater, and Christina's gawjus one... and you morph 'em together and put it on the beautiful and intelligent Sistahoodz model, the Sourceress's daughter, Grace...
Now... who looks bettah in this sweatah?
For your own transformation, if you have sweaters, say from a loved one who's passed on or a tv series that is no longer in production or or or... and you would like something incredibly awesome made out of it... drop Sistahoodz a line.
Morphing is my specialty!

| Seriously, Will? Could it look any louder? Especially against the carpet. Look in the panels of the completed coat for bits of this... see if you recognize what came from where? |

The Pigeon/Phoenixhood, a separated hood and poncho set
Fire and Ice in one swinging design
Rebecca inspired this design by wanting flashing colours when moving, and quiet tones when still, almost camoflageish... and I took the inspiration from Rebecca, and the idea of cheerleading skirts, after watching Glee... and viola...
The overall look is subtle when standing still. There is a little bling in the hood to lure the eye upwards, but there is a promise of something novel when movement is applied to the garment.
Rebecca requested pigeon in the front and phoenix in the back and I do believe that I not only delivered, but I struck gold on a design detail that will kick a lot of what I make in the future up a notch.
The whole thing about Katwise's inspiration that gets me beyond the fact that these reworked knit marvels are beautiful in their own right in a static position, but when movement is applied, as in dancing, they take on another life of their own.
The Pigeon / Phoenix hood is no exception, as it is designed to look one way still and another in movement. Its designed to show one palette from the front and another from behind as well.
My beautiful housemate has the model's body and graciously volunteered to show off the PP hoodz attributes to their best ability. Photos from Rebecca will show up here once she recieves the parcel that was sent just today.
Two hidden inside pockets for cell, keys, cash cards and whatnot complete the look. The poncho has a turtleneck neckline with the hood completely separate, allowing Rebecca to mix and match with other coats/hat sets.
Yeah. The pleated idea is a hit and I can't wait to apply it to other pieces of Sistahoodz art clothing in the future.

The Pamhoodlette - a variation on the Sistahoodz theme
Witches do things in circles. Makes sense that a circle hat would be the most efficient, add to that a circle capelette that keeps the wind off your shoulders and its layering to the max made easy.
Armwarmers can accompany this in complementary tones and textures as well.
Not a full poncho, this comes to between the shoulders and the elbows... a delightful variation, don't you think?
Created with a very wise and wily lady in mind, I thought of her circles, our circles, our moving in the world, our circles linking and separating but always in circle with each other on some fringe concept... So this is the perfect garment... almost a wheel within a wheel a turning... something else the xtians borrowed from the pagan... We do things in circles... Yep... And I'm hoping that when we connect this with her forever home, we will have a reveal that shows the lovely Pam modelling her Hoodlette.
And maybe the spiffy armwarmers too... Maybe Tiffany would like a pair?
And here is the lovely Pamela... new mom to the Pamhoodlette!
You'd think she likes her new goodies or something...

Sophiahood - a forest toned Maidenhood/ Cloak of knowledge and protection
Here is the recipient of the Sophiahood, the wonderful, whimsical Sophia!
Spinning with energetic enthusiasm... she found what was in the hidden mystery pocket!
This creation was a process that touched me deeply on many levels. An electric connection to the woman who commissioned this for her daughter was the first of several fortuitious synchronicities that colluded while I dreamed and created the Maidenhood for Sophia.
I combined all my knowledge of teen girls and way their bodies were blossoming, with the deep forest tones and soft, comfortable knits to give Sophia a portable shelter from whatever storms may cross her path.
The braid across her back is a multiple strand symbol for eternity and interconnectedness, so that she too can cocreate when she is wearing her Sophiahood.
Little details here and there are also very powerful symbolic energy spots, focusing the perimeters of the wearer with loving energy, encouraging the rebalancing of those who come into her energy field.
With a hood that doubles as a scarf and a snug zipper up the front, cold winter winds won't keep Sophia from enjoying making a statement as she wears her Hood to school. We await photos of her modelling it!
I wonder if she'll spot the hidden pocket easily or if she will need help to find the little token for her altar I left tucked in there?
The Sophiahood is winging its way across America as I type. I'm so excited to watch the next few days unfold so that I can hear all about the big reveal.
